Dear Papa Bear Fantasy Baseball managers.
I would like to thank and congratulate you on a successful draft.
Papa Bear Administration would like to propose the following  rules for our post draft add/drops.

1. Managers are allowed to add/drop players based on a "blind action" rules that are in place once the draft is finished and will cease operations on Saturday Apr 3rd at 11:59 am.  After that day no more pre-season adds/drops will be permitted.

2. Every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:59 am a dedicated and non participating in this year baseball league member of Papa Bear management team will collect emails from participating managers. (Email address and phone number of the "Blind Action" commish will be posted tomorrow by Igor.)

3. You as a manager can provide your player add/drop requests to that email or phone by every Wednesday and Saturday 11:59 am.

4. Each of you has a budget of 100 virtual dollars that you can spend on free agents. In your email/phone call you are expected to name players you want to add and which players you want to drop in order to add wanted player(s) along with minimum and maximum bids for a player you want to add. You can list more than one player (actually as many players as you want in your request). Keep in mind just because you have listed a player you want, it does not mean you will get him, since
   a) you can be outbid by another manager who bid more of his virtual $100 for the player you wanted
   b) more than one manager bid the same amount of money but you will loose the tie breaker. (see below for tie breaker rules)
   c) you run out of money ($100 virtual dollars) based on you previous bids and miscalculations)
   d) you did not specify who to drop, or you placed a bid on 2 players and specify the one player to drop in for both (which is OK since you can not be sure if you will get your first choice player) and you got your first choice and have nobody to drop for second choice.

5. TIE BREAKER is the reverse order of the bench round during the draft. Once you win a tie breaker you will be placed in the end of the Que, so the next time you will have the lowest priority during tie breaker situation.

6. We will have these blind action add/drops blind action activities every Wednesday and Saturday until Saturday Apr 3rd. You must send your requests to the unbiased commish by 11:59 am on this days (of course you can send earlier and please do not send it to any of the playing managers.

7. Upon receiving your "add/drop" requests the commish will determine which bids won and will post the results on the site.

8. You can make up to 10 bids per bid request, the order of your bids is the order they will be processed

9. In your bid sheet/email Specify Player(s) you want to add, Player You want to Drop, Min bid, Max bid

10. Min and Max Bids will allow you to win a player just $1 over the highest amount some other manager max bid on that player.

Example of Bid Email
Manager Name:
Player To Add: < .... > Player To Drop: < ... > Min Bid $: < ... > Max Bid $: < ... >
Player To Add: < .... > Player To Drop: < ... > Min Bid $: < ... > Max Bid $: < ... >
and etc ...

Your bids will not be shared with other managers until the time to announce the winners.
We understand that this process might seem a bit complicated now, but trust me it is easier than it sounds.
Please direct your question to Marat at si_goon@yahoo.com (917.232.2299) or Igor.

Thank you.
Papa Bear Fantasy Sport LLC management.

PS: Start thinking of your team names and Logos.

Pre-Season Waiver Add by Bombers.

Esteemed Colleagues.
As you are probably aware we had a small situation developing with the move made by Brighton Beach Bombers after the official deadline for Pre-Season Adds. Papa Bear Management team reached out to all members of the league to collect their thoughts on the situation. Each and Everyone's opinion matters to us.
We want to make sure that each Manager feels that his voice and opinion is heard and matters.
Looking into the add of Ervin Santana we looked at all angles of the situation.
We have a new pre-season add/drop rule in place which we want everybody to follow. This rules ensures that all managers have an opportunity at particular player. It also puts structure on our pre-season adds and drops.
Since this is a new rule, we (Papa Bear management) understand that we have not had a chance to polish it as well as we wanted to.
In hindsight, it would have been better if we had our last claim period on the day of the first game versus the day before. And we will take this into consideration for next year.
Also we had a manager who was out of a country with limited access to the inetrnet and no phone communications.
That member did not have a chance to look up our ADD/DROP email and also could not confirm that exact time of the claim limit.
The member was trying to reach out to a number of the commishes via email, with no success.
We also took into account that the late move was done on the same day of our last waiver period and way before any games have started.
Given the positive intent of the late move and lack of communications opportunities, as well as opinions of other members of the league, we would like motion that the "Ervin Santana" move stays.
It is being noted that not all managers have agreed to that. And as I mentioned above we understand your stand. we would like to ask for understanding on your part and take above circumstances into account.
We hope that you will have enough compassion to allow your fellow GM this move, due to the special circumstances he found himself in.

PS: If anybody you have missed it, The Season has started.
Play Ball.

Its those types of decisions that makes PapaBear lose credibility.  Absolutely No offense to the person making the move, but it's totaly a horrible decision to allow it.

Rob,
I am sorry you feel that way. And the decision did not come easy.
We really had to take into account all the circumstances.
At the end we wanted to make sure we have rules in place that are followed, however did not want to punish a GM that was out of rich and was not able to communicate his moves as the rest if us could.
I hope you can accept and understand our reasoning behind the decision.
Would we prefer that move did not happen, absolutely, but it did and we wanted to keep PAPA BEAR league, a good experience for all participants. If the person was not outside of US, i feel the decision would have been the opposite.

Thanks for expressing your feelings and concerns.
